Cody (Cardinal Newman). – Self-Published Poetry (2013)

July 23, 2013 in Core Projects, Literary Arts

Cody came to us with the lofty project of self-publishing a book of his poetry and combining this with a launch event in the city. Cody’s obvious creativity, expression, determination and motivation were the reasons that staff and youth collaborating together agreed to accept the challenge to help Cody make his dream a reality.

Throughout the process, Cody worked with various members of the CORE staff, volunteers and participants alike to assist with all areas of the project, including editing, proofreading, layout, marketing, right down to the event planning and execution. His finished book was released on June 17th, 2013 and he sold many copies of his book, entitled Bow and Arrow at the launch event that same evening, held at Homegrown Hamilton on King William. We at CORE feel that you will begin to see Cody soon become a fixture in the literary arts culture of Hamilton. He has what it takes to write, perform the spoken word while at the same time integrating them with interesting graphics, photos, and media that make the entire delivery very riveting. Watch for Cody Cipolla and his new book of poetry titled ‘Bow and Arrow’ at the James Street Art Crawl. You won’t be disappointed.
